Field Notes is a speciality flower farm & floral design studio nestled in the hillsides of rural Uxbridge, Ontario. Located 75 minutes outside Toronto, the farm is dedicated to cultivating whimsical, evocative flowers and foliage in harmony with the seasons, from bearded irises in spring to dahlias through autumn.
Driven by a commitment to environmental ethics, we focus on sustainable floristry practices and compose bouquets that reflect both the beauty of nature and the individuality of our clients. Through our immersive Pick-Your-Own Flowers experiences, we invite our community into our gardens to restore spirit and reconnect with nature.
our story
Field Notes was launched in 2016 out of a backyard garden plot, with all flowers being donated to a local retirement home.
When Marie saw the power of home-grown flowers to evoke emotion and reconnect people with nature, her dedication to sustainable flower production grew. She and her husband invested in a farm outside Uxbridge, Ontario in 2020, to grow Field Notes and its impact.
The flower farm now consists of a thriving ½ acre production area, a cutting patch for U-Pick and floral workshops, and an in-house design studio dedicated to sustainable floristry for special events.
At Field Notes we are growing flowers that connect people with what matters most- nature, and each other. We are fueled by making a difference in the world, one bouquet at a time.
Meet the foundER
Marie Injeyan has an educational background in moral philosophy, molecular genetics, and counseling. She is a board certified specialist and instructor with the genetic counseling faculty at the University of Toronto.
Marie has trained in intensive cut flower production with celebrated growers, including an in-person farming workshop with farmer floristry pioneer Erin Benzakien at Floret. She actively participates in continuing education initiatives, investing in furthering her knowledge and practical training in no-till and ecological farming techniques.
She is a member of the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario, the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, and the Regenerative Flower Farmers Network. Field Notes is proud to be a member in good standing with The Local Flower Collective in Toronto.
With Marie’s enduring appreciation of flowers blossomed a love of natural, garden-inspired floral design. She has had the privilege of training with accomplished artists in this field including Ariella Chezar, Nicolette Owens, and Gabriela Salazar.
Field Notes has been featured in the Toronto Star as a favourite U-pick destination in Durham region, and as a preferred vendor providing unique fresh flowers to the community. Field Notes flowers can be found in numerous styled photo shoots, and Marie’s floral design work has been featured in Today’s Bride.
